It’s well documented that cannabis, also referred to as “marijuana,” “weed,” “pot” and by many other names, is excellent for pain relief. In fact, Dr. Peter Grinspoon reports in the Harvard Medical School publication that “the most common use for medical marijuana is for pain control.” Recreational marijuana has been legal in Canada since 2018 and medical marijuana has been legal since 2001. StashClub has been around for many of those years and is one of the most reputable online sources for marijuana in the country. So whether you’re prescribed cannabis by a doctor for chronic pain or whether you’re self-medicating for short-term pain caused by fall or similar small accident, StashClub has exactly what you need, from mild smokables to potent edibles.
Types of Cannabis We Sell For Pain Relief
Currently there are two main kinds of cannabis products: ones with THC and ones without. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the intoxicating element in cannabis and is responsible for the “high” people experience when consuming it. On the other hand, there are CBD (short for “cannabinol”) products that do not contain THC and are, therefore, not intoxicating. They are available in topical and consumable form. Both THC and CBD products have been proven to be effective for pain relief so it’s up to the consumer to decide which to use. It should be stated that the only inhalable CBD product on the market comes in a vape form – all marjiuana bud that can be smoked has some element of THC in it. This is important to note because many people choose to smoke cannabis, as the pain relieving effects are immediate and it’s easier to control amounts consumed. So if you want to “smoke” CBD, you will have to vape it. Stashclub offers multiple forms and styles of both THC and CBD products.
Benefits of Cannabis for Pain Relief
As mentioned above, the benefits of marjiuana for pain relief are well documented. Inside your body are cannabinoid receptors, which are tiny loops of protein that affect how you feel pain. Cannabis contains natural compounds called cannabinoids that search for these receptors when they enter your body, either through topical application or inhaling or ingesting. Once they locate them, they change how the receptors work, lessening the pain signals rushing to your brain. Medical doctors have prescribed cannabis for pain relief caused by minor injuries, such as broken bones, to the chronic pain suffered by those with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis, and most other conditions that incur chronic pain.
How to Choose Your Cannabis To Help Relieve Pain
Part of the allure of cannabis for pain relief is that it is much safer than opiates because it’s impossible to overdose on it and it’s far less addictive. Plus, it can be used in place of such anti-inflammatory drugs as Advil or Aleve for those who have problems with their kidneys or who have ulcers. Once you’ve made the decision to use cannabis for your pain relief, the next step is to decide whether you’d prefer the intoxicating side effects of products with THC (which can be a lot of fun) or CBD products, which don’t induce a “high.” The final step is to decide how you want to consume it. For localized pain, a CBD topical oil might be the solution. But for deeper symptoms, consider edibles, which can provide a more robust body relief experience, or inhalable products such as vapes or bud which offer more immediate relief.
