CBD is in high demand thanks to its comprehensive health benefits. From reducing pain and inflammation to helping alleviate anxiety & depression, CBD has many uses. It even slows tumor cell growth and helps restore the enthusiasm and appetite of those suffering diseases. The legalization of marijuana is a major step forward however workplaces are not obligated to allow employees to use cannabinoids and CBD-derived products. Fortunately, full spectrum CBD will not show up on a workplace drug test. You can order weed online from a reputable supplier with no deterrent to your employment. There are however slight complications and things that you need to know about drug testing. Here’s a complete look at what to expect and why full spectrum CBD is not detected.
Drug Tests Aren’t Designed to Detect Full Spectrum CBD
Employers screen for drugs for numerous reasons spanning legal protection, productivity, safety and even out-right personal preference for abstinence. Cannabinoids are non-psychoactive and are therefore exempt from mandated drug tests. Drug tests are designed to test for your level of impairment due to using any given substance. The only compounds tested for by both 5-panel and 10-panel drug tests are THC-COOH. THC and its metabolite are the only compounds of interest to drug testing due to its psychoactive effect.
5-Panel Drug Tests
A 5-panel drug screening tests for:
- Cocaine – Cocaine, Benzoylecgonine, Cocaethylene, Norcocaine
- Opioids – Heroin Codeine, Morphine, 6-MAM, Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
- Amphetamines – Amphetamine, D-Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, MDMA, MDA, MDEA
- Cannabis – CarboxyTHC
10-Panel Drug Tests
10-Panel drug tests are far less frequently used but test for all five illicit drugs and five additional. Here’s what a 10-panel screening looks for in addition to the five beforementioned drugs detected by a 5-panel test:
- Barbiturates – Amobarbital, Pentobarbital, Phenobarbital, Secobarbital, Tuinal
- Benzodiazepines – Lorazepam, Chlordiazepoxide, Alprazolam, Diazepam
- Methadone – Methadone, Dolophine, Methadose
- Propoxyphene – Darvon, Darvon-N, PP-Cap
- Quaaludes – Methaqualone, Quaaludes
Full Spectrum CBD -All Active Components of Cannabis
Full spectrum CBD contains all of the vital components inherent to cannabis. From the THC to the terpenes, CBD, CBN, fibre, and THCV, full spectrum CBD retains it all. CBD isolate extracts only the CBD leaving behind all the other elements of marijuana as waste. While this guarantees that detection is not possible, the rest of the benefits of the hemp plant are lost. The terpenes alone are non-psychoactive and help fight inflammation, promote sedation, bronchodilation, and even help combat anxiety. Without using a full spectrum product, you lose many of the therapeutic benefits of cannabis. There is a synergistic action between the way that a tiny concentration of THC, terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids work together to support the endocannabinoid system.
The Entourage Effect of Full Spectrum CBD
Pure cannabinoid isolate does not exhibit the same “entourage effect” of full spectrum CBD. New therapeutic approaches to antitumor responses in breast cancer have shown the efficacy of a pure cannabinoid extract. The antitumor responses generated by treatment involving a pure cannabis sativa extract were so much greater than other treatments that they are being recommended as a therapeutic armamentarium to better manage breast cancer. Cannabis displays no less than fourteen distinctly different mechanisms of action in the nervous system. Each has a synergistic effect when full spectrum CBD is administered. Some describe this entourage effect as the key behind the profound anti-inflammatory benefits of cannabis.
How Hemp Can Trigger a False Positive
Legally, hemp extracts can contain 0.003% or less THC. Every good full spectrum CBD product delivered when you order weed online will stay below this minimum. Given that full spectrum CBD retains all of the vitamins, fatty acids, proteins, terpenes, cannabinoids, and THC, there is a very small chance of triggering a false positive. This would, however, involve consuming massive amounts of CBD, with dosages between 1,000 to 2,000 mg per day holding the potential to trigger detection. Even if you had to maintain a high dose of CBD daily, it would be very hard to reach the 50 nanograms of THC per millilitre of urine limit.
Full Spectrum CBD Average Dose
Controlled studies show a trend between dosages. Average full spectrum CBD consumption for those taking it as a supplement to combat anxiety and promote good health fall well below detection limits. Between 34 studies observed, the daily fixed dose for controlled therapeutic benefits ranged between 200mg and 600mg of CBD at a maximum. Even neuropathic pain has a flexible dose amounting to 20mg eight to ten times a day. With serious chronic pain requiring just 200mg at the most, it is highly unlikely that a false positive will be triggered by any workplace testing even if you use full spectrum CBD.
Determining CBD Dosage based on Body Weight
The higher your body mass and slower your metabolism the more CBD you need to experience its full effects. A good general calculation to use when trying to determine a starting dosage of full spectrum CBD is to take between 1 to 6 mg per 10 pounds of body weight. Base your calculation on the severity of your pain or discomfort, using 1 mg per 10 pounds as the entry level dose for those new to CBD-based treatments. This would give you a flexible dosage as follows:
- Under 25 Pounds – 4.5 to 9 mg
- 26 to 45 Pounds – 6 to 12 mg
- 46 – 85 Pounds – 9 to 15 mg
- 86 – 150 Pounds – 12 to 18 mg
- 151 – 240 Pounds – 18 to 27 mg
- Over 240 Pounds – 22.5 to 45mg
The recommended frequency for using full spectrum CBD is twice a day. From here, you can begin to customize the perfect dosage for your unique biology. What works for one person may be completely unsuited to another. Our chemistry determines the ideal dosage.
Staying Below the THC Limit
It is highly unlikely that your full spectrum CBD use will be detected online as long as THC levels are equal to the federal limit. When you buy weed online from a reputable supplier, you are rewarded with high-purity products delivering outstanding quality. There is no need to worry about the level of THC present in your product. Cannabis oils and tinctures derived from full spectrum extraction give proven benefits and come with a low risk of detection. Stay away from cannabis concentrates as they have the highest levels of THC, but any good full spectrum CBD oil or tincture will give you everything that you need to stay in good health.
